I was pretty confused when I saw this on my Amazon page. The standard international shipping stated that I’ll receive the product in 10 to 15 days, why the hell will 1 book take 40 days to reach me? Impossible! I emailed Amazon, they replied me very quickly. I love their customer service.

The first e-mail response wasn’t satisfactory to me, I clicked the “not satisfied” link and proceeded on-to my second email, which I gotten a satisfactory answer from Amazon. I have quoted 3 paragraphs from the second e-mail:

I’ve reviewed your correspondence thoroughly and I do understand your concern with the delay and I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to you.

As this point of time I would recommend you to please wait until we receive the item from the supplier and as soon as we receive we will ship the item for you.

As an apology for this situation, I am sending you a promotional gift certificate of $10 for your future Amazon purchases. I realise that no compensation can really make amends for the disappointment this has caused to you. Please accept it as a goodwill gesture and in apology for any inconvenience we have caused.

This time, I know where the problem lies. Amazon’s supplier. Amazon doesn’t have any stock for the book which I ordered, or whatever, I don’t know. But it said that “please wait until we receive the item from the supplier.”

I didn’t complain because I wanted a $10 gift certificate, who wouldn’t be pissed when your book arrival time is multiplied by 4?

So oh well, $10 is like a 70% discount, so all I can say is that, Amazon has really good customer service and they really care about someone, who is living thousand of miles away from the states.

But still, 40 days?!?!!!!!!!
